Description
A medieval Burgonet helmet was a type of open helmet that was popular in Europe during the 16th and 17th centuries. It was a lightweight, open–faced helmet with a brim around the base, which provided protection to the neck, face, and head. The helmet was often fitted with a peak or peak–like crest and a hinged neck guard. It was usually crafted from iron or steel, sometimes with decorative elements such as brass or bronze. The Burgonet was typically worn by cavalry and light infantry on the battlefield and in tournaments. It was also used for jousting and other forms of combat.
